We designed this for our own Ervin the Goldendoodle (in the product pictures) after he was attacked at the canine park and developed severe anxiety when meeting other dogs. We also live in the north and needed more to grab onto when wearing winter gloves. We found the strongest climbing rope (tested to 500 lbs torque pressure) and added reflective threads for safety. Other companies will tell you theirs are machine washable. Although ours is washable, we don't recommend it, since the tough bolt-snap clip may damage the washer. We added a water-protective element to the rope so you can just easily wipe it off. The clip is also rust and corrosion resistant.
