The FR-5.2GT fits 12 spline 23.4mm diameter tool fittings - the most common tool fitting found on 7-12 speed bicycle cassette lockrings, including many models made by Shimano, SRAM, SunRace, SunTour, Chris King and others. Also fits Shimano disc brake lockrings with 12 internal splines. Thin wall construction allows use without removal of cones and locknuts. Features a 12mm guide pin to stabilize the tool when used with thru-axle hubs. The 1" hexagonal base can be used in conjunction with a socket, wrench, or bench vise. Heat treated alloy tool steel construction for a lifetime of use. The FR-5.2GT has 12 splines that are approximately 23.4mm across at the widest point. To determine the type of rear sprocket system you have, find the tool fitting on the sprocket set. Spin the sprockets backwards. If the fitting spins with the cogs, it is a cassette system. If the tool fitting does not spin with the cogs, it is a freewheel system. If you have a multi-speed cassette, you need one of two tools. If the cassette, derailleur, or shifter are labeled with Campagnolo, the tool for you is the BBT-5/FR-11. Otherwise, you will require a tool in our FR-5.2 line. In addition to the correct tool, you will also need a method of driving it (such as an adjustable wrench or 1" socket) as well as a chain whip to hold the cassette in place as you remove the lockring.
