The knife is equipped with a 2.87 inch blade, open length 6.5 inches and weighs in at an efficient 42 grams! All Opinel wooden-handle knives are not designed to be washed in the dishwasher. Heat and moisture will cause any wood to swell which will make the knife hard to open at times. Opinel suggests carefully hand-washing and immediately drying the blade with a soft, dry towel. Lubricating the blade with cooking oil before closing the knife is recommended (this prevents oxidation).
