The Slim series (a.k.a Effilés in French) are elegant and highly ergonomic. Choose from four different sizes ranging from No.08 - No.15. Having a knife long enough and flexible enough to fillet is key to harvesting the most from your catch. The Slim Fillet knives come in a a variety of different woods. Ebony, Beech Wood, Olive Wood and Padouk Wood. The new version of the Effilé features a more urban blade with a more rounded tip, as well as a moisture-resistant, low-maintenance wooden handles. A mirror polished blade which is present only on the Padouk and Olive wood models makes this table knife especially elegant. The ferrule is branded with the new logo and locks the blade in the open and closed positions. Choose from four different sizes ranging from No.08 - No.15. All slim knives have a narrow flexible blade, the smallest ones are great to cut fruits and vegetables or transform ordinary steak dinners into extraordinary meals and the larger ones meant to fillet fish. Please keep in mind that the Slim knives have a slightly flexible blade and are not designed to be used for heavy-duty tasks. All Opinel wooden-handle knives are not designed to be washed in the dishwasher. Heat and moisture will cause any wood to swell which will make the knife hard to open at times. Opinel suggests carefully hand-washing your knives and leaving them out to air dry. The stainless steel used in OPINEL blades is a grade optimized to both high corrosion resistance and high mechanical performance. The blade offers excellent sharpness and high resistance to abrasion (wear) which allows it to withstand regular contact with hard materials, such as ceramics, before requiring re-sharpening. Stainless steel has the advantage of requiring no special maintenance under ordinary conditions of use, unlike carbon steel.
