This special formulation of animal and plant proteins, algae, natural color enhancers, omega fatty acids, and trace elements provides most species of tree frog and toad tadpoles with the nutrition they need to thrive! Developed over the past decade for use in our own breeding programs, Josh's Frogs Tree Frog and Toad Tadpole Food is powdered for easy feeding. Simply feed enough at a time so that all the food is consumed within an hour. Josh's Frogs recommends feeding 2-3 times a day. Josh's Frogs Tree Frog and Toad Tadpole Food will not cloud the water when used properly and when tadpoles are housed correctly. If water clouds, or uneaten food is visible after 3 hours, remove uneaten food and perform a 30% water change. Tadpole Care It is very important that you set your tadpoles up correctly. They will not survive in a small, unfiltered, unoxygenated bowl of water. When raising a group of tadpoles, please have a 5 or 10 gallon tank with a bubbler at minimum to keep the water from becoming stagnant. A sponge filter would be more ideal so that the nitrogen cycle can be completed. Tadpole waste becomes ammonia, which is toxic. A sponge filter will convert the ammonia into less harmful nitrates. Water changes will still be required, but not as frequently. If you choose to ignore this care information, it is vital to change the tadpoles water everyday to decrease ammonia and increase oxygen.
