Its helpful to wash the sponge gently with water from the fish tank instead of tap water. It is good to replace the sponge after 3 to 6 months usage as the holes of sponge is gradually clogged by the tiny debris. This air powered sponge filter with 10-layer ribbing shape sponge design, combines bio-filtration, oxygenation and physical filtration in one. The spare sponge is hidden in ceramic media balls box,need take out the spare sponge before using Two media containers with ceramic ball inside, you can also replace this ceramic media with other media.
