Hermit crabs will likely nibble on the leaves, but all these plants are pet safe and non toxic. The cryptanthus and air plants can either be planted or epiphytically mounted. We recommended the tropical plant be potted with hermit crab safe substrate in a pot with no drainage holes. This will keep its large root system from taking over the tank. Wash as much soil as you can off of the roots. Hermit crabs may try to burrow in the potting soil, which is not good for them. Mist plant occasionally while taking care not to over water the substrate. *Plants may vary slightly from photo, however, all plants will come labeled with their names and will be well-suited for your Hermit Crab Vivarium.
